Hydra was said to be raised by Hera to kill Heracles (Hercules). It is a water beast with poisonous breath and each head being cut off will grew two more. Nevertheless, it was the one being killed by Heracles and was placed under a great rock. The only thing that could stops its head from growing more is to burn its neck with its own blood after cutting it.
Hera was upset about Hydra's defeated, so as the Giant Crab sent to disturb Heracles. She turned both Hydra and the Giant Crab into Constellation namely Hydra and Cancer.
